Maya Road have some beautiful products and are quite popular at our shop. I checked out their Design Team blog this morning and it has some amazing projects for you to look at! This week we received stock of their Maya Road Mists and I can't wait to try them out.

This week we also restocked our Cuttlebug embossing folder range. Kathleen created this layout using white cardstock, the Cuttlebug and stamp pads. We often get asked for different ideas on how to use the Cuttlebug embossing folders on layouts and I thought this was a great way to use them!

Ngaire Bartlam Classes At Inkredible

I had my final operation on my broken ankle yesterday. The doctors removed a screw from my ankle and I am now allowed to walk. I took my first steps yesterday afternoon, if you could call them that! However, today I have managed to walk with my crutches and have not had to hop anywhere. Thankyou for all your well wishes! As Kathleen said in her weekly email this week - I will be back figure skating in no time ;)

New Layout + March Madness Card Class News

Have you had a fabulous weekend? We had Jilly GG come and teach two classes at the shop on Saturday and it was such a fun day! Jilly will be back with us on Saturday the 10th April and you can book now.

Jilly GG and Ngaire Bartlam also create pieces of art and jewellery and sell it through their Etsy shop The Gradum Gypsies. I checked out Jilly's necklace yesterday and think I might have to get one for myself!

I created this layout last week with Rouge de Garance papers we have instore and I also made the flower embellishment with tissue paper and paint.

Have you heard about our March Madness card class that is on at the end of March? It is on Saturday 27th March at 10am and we will be making 30 cards in one class (yes that is not a typo - 30 cards!). The class is FREE! You will need to purchase the kit pictured below to come to the class. The kit includes papers, stamps and embellishments from the new Kaiser La Di Da range and it is just gorgeous! I am currently designing the cards for the class and have made 15 so far and am loving working with this kit. The cards are on display in the shop - make sure you have a look when you are in next. (Inspired by a blog post of Ali Edwards that I just came across)

Outside my window... overcast sky, trees and butterflies

I am thinking... that I can not wait to walk again so that i can clean my house. I am also thinking that I can not believe that housework is near the top of my list of things to do once i can walk again... :)

I am thankful for... so many things that i can not possibly list them all here. However, at the moment i am most thankful for good friends and family who have spent the last three months selflessly looking after me. They have given up so much to do this and it will take me a long time to repay them for their kindness.

From the kitchen... not much! i can't really cook at the moment - it took me about forty minutes to boil eggs and make myself a curried egg sandwich due to the distance between my fridge, sink and benches (throwing eggs the length of my kitchen wouldn't be a good idea and i can't exactly carry them and use crutches at the same time so you can see my dilemma especially when you consider carrying other ingredients and utensils...) so, we are living on convenience foods at the moment. i am really looking forward to a proper homecooked meal and so is Eliahn!

I am wearing... my pj's.

I am creating... a layout for Wed night class and also card samples for a class we are having in March (30 cards in one class all made with the new Kaiser La Di Da range - nice!)

I am going... to rest all day and probably watch tv shows.

I am reading... blogs. I have run out of books to read :( Really need a new vampire book!

I am hoping... that my operation goes well.

I am hearing... the birds outside and the fan inside.

Around the house... it is quiet as i am the only one here - i like that!

One of my favourite things... rainy Sunday's at home with Eliahn (was hoping for that kind of weather today but it appears that the sun is trying to come out, oh well...)

A few plans for next week... creating, catching up with Nolene, hanging out with Kate and Eliahn, counting down to my operation - it's an exciting time around here lol!! Don't let me forget though - i am looking forward to Jilly GG's first classes at Inkredible next Saturday!

A picture to share... well, two actually. these are some ATC's i made for a swap last year and i just found the photos on my computer. these are the only ATC's i have ever made and i quite liked them. i used oil pastels and stamping after Nolene taught me some techniques in class.

I decided to share this blog post from Ali with you because i thought that it could be quite a useful tool for scrapbookers. Often we struggle with journaling and documenting our life stories. This shows you how easy it can be. Just answer some simple questions about what is happening in your life at the moment and scrapbook it. It's a glimpse into your everyday life - often we neglect to include these in our scrapbooks but i am so sure that our children would love to read these kinds of snippets of their lives and their parents lives.

NEW Technique Boutique at Inkredible

One of my favourite products to use at the moment are the Papermania Brush Markers. I use them to colour stamps with and also to colour white cardstock. You can see an example of this in the card below. I have coloured the Stamp It stamp with a pen and I have also coloured some white card in the same colour pen. I love how they match. The sparkles around the edge of the pink card are Kindy glitz dots.

Cupcake Card

I have two cards to share with you today. The first one has a cupcake sticker from the new Papermania Elements Cupcake Delights sticker pack. I have designed a new card kit with these stickers which should be available for purchase from tomorrow. These stickers are so cute - my favourite is the Love Birds set with the birdcages! Oh, and the butterflies!! I also used a new Cuttlebug embossing folder, Dawny and I quite like how it turned out. You probably can't see it too well in this photo but I have used a piece of patterned vellum on this card. It has white and creamy leaves on it and it is behind the green and white card. Kathleen gave me the idea to start using our beautiful vellums on my cards - I am looking forward to using more of them as we have so many gorgeous designs in-store now.

The next card is one I designed awhile ago but it has always been a favourite of mine due to it's simplicity. I think we all need a quick and easy card design to fall back on when we don't have a lot of time to make a card. The sentiment has been cut on the Cuttlebug as has the flower. I have cut the flower out of felt and glued a button on top. Then you add a small strip of ribbon for the stem. I used a white gel pen to doodle around the border. Also, make sure you attach the brads to the green card before you stick this piece to the base card otherwise the brads will show through on the inside of your card.

Scrapbook Kit - NEW

I finished my scrapbook layout based on the Scrapbook Creations colour combo of red, silver and light blue. We have some gorgeous embossed white cardstock in-store at the moment and I chose the friendship cardstock for mine. I lightly ran a red stamp pad over the centre part of the cardstock to hightlight some of the friend words. The rest of the embellishments have either been cut from the patterned paper or punched. I love the simplicity of this layout and the fact that it didn't take me very long to do. I really wanted to dedicate this page to one special photo (we all have those types of photos right) but at the same time not spend hours on it. I know that many of you don't have a lot of time to scrapbook but lots of photos to get through. With this in mind, I will be creating layouts for classes and kits that either use a lot of photos or are quick to complete.

A couple of ladies saw this layout in the shop this morning and requested a kit for it so I decided to offer it to everyone. It is now available on our website and it is quite reasonably priced at only $5.50.

Happy Birthday Card

I love this card that Kathleen made! She has used a Papermania stamp set we have instore at the moment. The butterfly and flowers have all been stamped multiple times and layered up. It is really hard to see this in the photo though. Kindy Glitz (clear) has been added as a final touch to bling them up!

I am working on a scrapbook layout at the moment using this month's Scrapbook Creations colour combo of red, silver and light blue. It is coming together nicely and I am hoping to finish it tomorrow so I will share it then if I do. Do you ever try their colour combo's? To be honest, I never have. In fact I have not read their magazine for a very long time but have checked it out again this week and didn't mind it at all. I am also enjoying trying a colour combo that I perhaps would not have otherwise.

A New Card + New Papers

What scrapbooking magazine do you read? Do you read the ads in it? Kathleen and I are considering doing some magazine ads again and aren't sure which magazine to choose. We would love to hear from you what you think! Leave us a comment with your thoughts.

Here is a card I recently made. The black and white polka dot pattern was actually made with white card and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. You ink the debossed side of the white card with black ink (it's a great way to make any colour polka dot paper!). I punched multiple flowers from text paper and the EK Success Daisy large punch. I scrunched them all together and then added Kaiser pearls.

I really love these new Birch papers! They are all double sided and one side is glittered. Fabulously priced at just $1.40!!!

I especially love the Kaiser Rhinestone strips! Kathleen has used some of the gorgeous new Paper Vogue patterned vellum that we now have in the shop. These kits are selling fast so if you aren't able to make it into the store you can either order online or phone us on 3366 0366 to put one away for you. If you do order online and want to collect it from the shop just make a note in the comments that you do not want it posted. The postage will still show up on your order but we won't charge you for it.

3 New Cards

The first 2 cards I used stamps from the Some Bunny Loves You Candyfloss & Marshmallow Clear Stamp set. Both images have been coloured with watercolours.

The pink card has been embossed using the D'Vine Swirl embossing folder (one of my favourites). The yellow edging has been cut using the Ornamental Iron die. Kindy glitz has been put on the edging.

The green card has been embossed with the Victoria embossing folder. The pink edging has also been cut using the Ornamental Iron die and kindy glitz put all over.

The third card - the owl is from the Papermania Honey & Hugs Owl clear stamp set. I've paper pieced it to give it a bit of 3 dimensional look. The sentiment is from the Papermania Sentiments clear stamp set. The purple card has been embossed using the embossing folder from the Ornamental Iron set - I wiped a white ink pad over it to highlight the raised pattern. The purple edging has been cut using the Ornamental Iron die and then kindy glitz over it.

2 New Cards & My Ankle News

I have two cards to share with you today. The first one is a baby girl card. The pram is cut from the new Mother's Day Cricut cartridge which I love. The sentiment is from a set of Kaiser rub ons and I have also used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder which I have to admit is one of my favourites. Kathleen is not fussed on it but I use it A LOT!

See, I told you that I used Swiss Dots a lot!! I also love to make white cards. Here is a very simple wedding card made with white card and silver foil card. The sentiment has been stamped with a stamp from the Papermania sentiment set we have in store. I have punched the daisy flowers with the EK Success medium Daisy punch. The EK Success border punch jazzes up the sentiment strip a little and finish off with ribbon and Kaiser pearls. The Kaiser pearls and rhinestones are self adhesive which makes them really easy to use (lots of customers still don't realise this so thought I would mention it).

My ankle is healing well but I did have a little trip on it yesterday and scared poor Kathleen. It is OK today but I have to tell you, I am looking forward to when this is all over. A broken ankle is a lesson in patience (something I don't have much of). I have a new appreciation for people with a physical disability and the effort it must take just to get through the daily activities that most of us take for granted.

I would like to thank all of our wonderful customers who emailed or phoned Kathleen when I broke my ankle to wish me a speedy recovery or who offered to help in any way they could. Some of you have even sent me books and cards, visited me and helped out in the shop. To you - THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I doubt that you realise how even such a small act has impacted my life. And to Eliahn, Mum, Dad, John, Kathleen & Stephen - no words can convey my gratitude.

To keep you all up to date - my next operation is on the 10th March. The doctors will be removing a screw that extends the width of my ankle and is presently holding it all together. They will leave the metal plate and six other screws in my ankle (helps with stability I think). I can have these removed in 18 months or so if they are annoying me. After my operation I will be allowed to put full weight on my foot again and slowly start to walk again. Some customers have expressed their worry that I am not walking yet. Thank you for your concern but I can only go by what my doctors are telling me to do and at this point they are not allowing me to put pressure on my ankle due to the large screw holding it together. If that screw snaps it will halt the recovery process and make it much harder to remove the screw. I can not afford for the recovery process to take any longer than it already is and I don't want to snap the screw so I am following the doctors orders! Every injury is different and has a different recovery plan/process and while your past injury may have indicated that you should start walking at six weeks mine doesn't. I met patients at the hospital who didn't get their cast off until much later than mine was able to come off so you see we are all different.

On a final note, many customers ask me how I broke my ankle. One lady asked me if I did it pole dancing lol!!! I am seriously thinking of telling people that this is how I did it but the real story is that I broke it while ice skating. Sadly, I will never ice skate again... but if you go ice skating, my one bit of advice is WATCH OUT FOR THE LITTLE KIDS WHO MAY RUN INTO YOU. And if they do run into you just let yourself fall down, don't fight it and try to stay standing :)

I spent the day with Nolene at the shop today - thank you so much Nolene for everything, I really appreciated your help. Can't say we did too much work though ;)

I have just one card to share with you today. It has one of my favourite stamps on it, the butterfly and swirl stamp from a Kaiser set that we have instore. The card is made from all white card - I inked some of it to make it purple. I have used the EK Success border punch I love to create the scallop border. To finish it off, I used Kindy Glitz to create the sparkly border.

Two New Cards

Are you having a great weekend? We had the lovely and lots of fun Ngaire Bartlam teaching at the shop today. I wasn't there but Kathleen said she had a great day with Ngaire and all the ladies who came to class - thanks Ngaire! Also, many thanks to Princess Tina for bringing more rocky road! I don't know what we would do if you arrived for class without it one day - Stephen would definately be very upset!!

I spent the morning at home scrapbooking but I can't share it just yet as it is for class next Wednesday night. I will be emailing it out on Monday. If you would like to join our email list for class details and specials please send us an email.

Here are two cards I made a little while ago. The baby card was so quick and easy to make. I cut the stork on the Cricut (Lyrical Letters from memory). The sentiment is a Kaiser rub on.

The next card was all made from white card. I love creating with white card and stamp pads or brush markers. This way I can match colours perfectly. You can colour your stamps with brush markers instead of stamp pads which is what I have done here. Then I simply colour the edges of the white card in the same colour to create my own coloured cardstock. Purchasing a set of brush markers is a great investment as it means you have a whole new set of "stamp pads". I use Kindy Glitz around the edges to create glitz borders. I have used Stamp It stamps on this card. Everything I have used is available in store now.

My Little Secret!

I have a secret. Shhh, don't tell the scrapbookers I know and love, but I have developed an addiction to making cards! Whilst recovering from my broken ankle the last couple of months I have been spending my days making cards for classes at the shop. Cassie had the scrapbooking classes under control so I was put on cardmaking duty. And now I really love creating cards!

Here are three easy cards I designed. I have used Kaiser stamps on the first one here along with watercolour pencils to colour them in. The Thinking of You sentiment is from the fabulous Papermania Sentiment set that we sell. It is THE BEST sentiment set because it covers so many occasions and is excellent value at under $20. The other thing I love about this set is that each sentiment comes in a couple of different fonts and sizes.

I used some beautiful Stamp It frangipani shimmery paper for the next card that we have in store at the moment. The butterfly has been punched from one of my favourite punches, an EK Success punch. I then embossed it on the Cuttlebug. The sentiment is from a Kaiser rub on set of sentiments and images that are perfect for cardmaking (and excellent value!). And see that scallop border along the bottom of the sentiment? Another of my favourite punches - an EK Success border punch. Visit me at the shop and I will show you how to use it - you need it!!

The last card for today was so quick to make. I cut the cute bird on the Cricut from the Lyrical Letters cartridge - this cartridge in my opinion is fantastic value for both cardmakers AND scrapbookers as there are so many images and sentiments. The Happy Birthday sentiment is a stamp from the Papermania set I was telling you about earlier. And this paper is so fresh! It is a Rouge de Garance paper that we have in store. We received another delivery of Rouge de Garance today and I bought some of the paper home to scrapbook with so I will post my creations when they are finished!

Layout From Class This Week

I love the simplicity of this layout by Cassie. She has used the scalloped 12x12 cardstock we have in-store now (you can buy it by the single sheet or in a pack). Cassie has also embossed strips of cardstock on the Cuttlebug and sanded them for extra effect.

Cuttlebug Cards

Here are some cards that I taught last weekend.

The first card - the bird has been cut using the die from the A2 Combo Persia Cut & Emboss set. The green card has also been embossed using the embossing folder from the same set and then sanded. Silver rhinestones have been glued on to the base of the feathers, then kindy glitz put all over the bird.

The second card - the flowers have been punched out and then rhinestones placed in the centre. The apricot card has been embossed using the Goochie Script embossing folder and then sanded. The flower design in the oval has been pricked and then the flowers/leaves have been coloured. "Just a note to say..." is from the Papermania Sentiments clear stamp set.
The third card - the four corners have been cut using the die from the A2 Combo Persia cut & emboss set. The butterfly is from the Butterflies Cut n Emboss set. "Just Because..." is from the Papermania Sentiments clear stamp set as well. I put kindy glitz on parts of the butterfly and silver rhinestones on the body of the butterfly.

Valentine's Pop Up Twirl Card

I thought I would share with you all a Valentine card that I made. I found the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers by Maren Benedict (www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/popuptwirl/). The tutorial was really easy to follow.

The red card has been embossed using the Kimmy-Luvs embossing folder. I went over the embossed red card with a white ink pad. The stamps used are from the Kaisercraft Love clear stamp set. I put kindy glitz over some parts of the hearts.

We have finally updated the blog with class dates for Ngaire Bartlam and Jill GG for 2010. Ngaire and Jill GG will also be teaching classes for us at the Australian Scrapbook & Papercraft Expo over the June long weekend in Brisbane. Christmas Cards

I'm always after some quick Christmas cards to do. I love the elegance of just white cards with a hint of colour on them.

This card I used the Seasons greetings embossing folder for both the main white background and the red strip. The reindeer is from one of the Papermania duo stamp sets.

I seem to have an obsession with snow/snowflakes - could be because it's so hot here.

This one I saw on a blog, I can't remember which one, but I loved the elegance of it. The folders that I used were - swiss dots and the winter border set. The snowflakes are die cuts (I used the snowflake #2 die). I put kindy glitz and gems on the snowflakes to give them a bit of an extra effect.

This card I used the snowflakes embossing folder, and one of the Anita stickers. I put kindy glitz over the embossed snowflakes.

This card I used the holly ribbon embossing folder for the main white card background (sorry that it's not clear on the photo). The red strip I embossed using the Seasons greeting embossing folder.

This card, I used Kaisercraft paper for the background. The tree is from the Papermania Joyeux Noel set. I added bling and cord to give it something extra.

Kaiser Christmas Cards

Good Morning!

It is 6.30am here and already the heat is rising - I can only imagine how hot it will be again today...

Here are two Christmas cards made from Kaiser paper that we have in store now.

The panel you see on the first card with the baubles comes like that, you just cut it out and stick it to your card - so simple! Add some gems and a sentiment and you are done. Imagine how quickly your cards would be made with these. They come on a 12x12 piece of paper with different designs on the one piece so all your cards won't look the same!

For the second card we have cut some swirls on the Cricut and layered them up on the Kaiser paper. We punched flowers with the EK Success Daisy punches and layered them also. We punched a corner with an EK Success Corner punch. Add your sentiment and some Kindy Glitz and you are done!

Over the next few weeks at the shop we will be designing lots of new Christmas cards and gift ideas for you to copy. They will be on display and you will also be able to drop into the shop on certain days and do a free make and take! We will also have many new Christmas Card Kits.

Christmas Cards

Here are some more creations....

The first card, the snowflake is the Ice Crystal cut'n'emboss die/folder. I've put kindy glitz over the snowflake.
This card, I've used the Kaisercraft Christmas bauble stamps and the Papermania Joyeux Noel "Merry Christmas" stamp. I've put kindy glitz over the swirls on the baubles as well as small gems in the centre of the stars and the top part of the baubles. Kaisercraft papers used for the main background.

This card the stamps used are from the Kaisercraft stamp set. I'm thinking about putting kindy glitz on the baubles as well. Kaisercraft papers used for the background as well as for the baubles.

Here are a couple more Christmas Card ideas -

The frame on the first one is from the Cuttlebug Damask Frame combo set. I've used the Swiss Dots embossing folder on the dark purple background. The main image is the Winter House embossing folder. I've put kindy glitz over parts of the embossed image.

The second card, I'ved used the Swiss Dots embossing folder on the gold card. The red card, I've used the square border embossing folder from the Pop Culture A2 Border set. The green bauble has been heat embossed.

This card, the baubles have been heat embossed with silver embossing powder. The sticker on the left is from Anita's Festive Border outline stickers.

Here are a couple of quick cards.

The first one, I've used patterned paper and card stock to cover the front of the card. Both the bauble and the Merry Christmas have been heat embossed with gold.

This card I've used the StampIt Drop Bauble Solid stamp and a branch from Kelly Pancci Twit Twoo stamp set. Both of these have been heat embossed with gold. The green card stock has been embossed with the Forest Branches embossing folder.

Hi Everyone,
Here are a couple of cards that I made this afternoon.

The first card, I've used the spots and dots embossing folder on the green card. The tree stamp is from the Papermania Joyeux Noel clear stamp set, this has been heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

This card, I've used the Swiss Dots embossing folder on the gold card. The stickers are from Anita's Glitterations Christmas Trees packet. (Sorry about the photo, my little helper picked up the card just before I took the photo).

Hi everyone, here are a few more Christmas things...

The first card, I've used Swiss Dots embossing folder on the green card. The red strip on the right is a Cuttlebug die cut. The stamp I've used is StampIt Season's Collage (4154E) stamp, it has been heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

This card the white background has been embossed with the Snowflakes embossing folder. The small snowflakes have been cut using the Snowflakes #2 die.

Here are a few tags I made this morning using scraps of paper and cardstock from the cards I made in Saturday's lesson. The first 2 tags, the trees have been cut using the Tree cut n emboss dies. The bauble stamp from the 3 tag is from Papermania Stamp Duo set - Christmas Candle Light. The last tag, I used a present stamp from the Kaisercraft Doodled Christmas set.

Here are some Christmas cards that we have made in classes.

The first one uses a Cuttlebug border embossing folder to create the top panel.

I love the simplicity of this card.

The next card is a pop up. The front is kept very simple with a panel made using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. After we embossed it we lightly ran a Versamark stamp pad over it and embossed with gold embossing powder - don't forget to use your anti static pad first!

When you open the card these presents pop up.
They were cut on the Cricut (from memory we used the Christmas Cheer cartridge).

I think the card below on the right would be great to give to a male.

The Christmas tree was cut on the Cricut machine.

The presents on the card below were also cut on the Cricut.

To create the JOY panel on the card below we simply cut 3 squares of card and then angled them and stamped a letter on each one to spell the word. Attach with foam tape and then glue a gem in between each letter. The reindeer on the card on the right was cut on the Cricut.

These are the cards that I taught today at the shop.

The first card, we used the Cuttlebug and the D'Vine Swirl embossing folder on the main background. The stamp that we used was StampIt Drop Bauble Solid (4158E). The image was heat embossed with silver embossing powder. This card we used the Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots embossing folder for the blue card only. The Merry Christmas stamp is from the Kaisercraft Merry Christmas clear stamp set. The baubles are from Papermania Dotty Decorations Stamp Duo set.

This card was inspired by a card that a friend did for a swap. The diamonds were hand cut and then the maroon diamonds were put in the D'Vine Swirl embossing folder and the patterned diamonds in the Swiss Dots embossing folder and then through the Cuttlebug. The flowers were cut using Cuttlebug flower dies. The Merry Christmas (StampIt Christmas Script 3952D) was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

With this card, I have used the paper from the Daisy & Dandelion "A Winter's Tale" pack. The tree and Merry Christmas stickers are from Anita's Glitterations "Christmas Trees #7995".

This card I've used the Swiss Dots embossing folder on the green background. The stars are from Papermania Elements "Silver Stars".

This card, I wanted to do something different...so this is my take on a spinner card. I've used 2 stickers from Anita's "Festive Stamps" coloured stickers for the spinner part. The paper is also from the Daisy & Dandelion "A Winter's Tale" set. I heat embossed the tree in gold - the tree is from Kaisercraft "Merrry Christmas" set.

All you need to create this card is your basic tool kit, card stock, kindy glitz, a small gem (for the centre of the snowflake), a Cuttlebug, the Ice Crystal Cut n Emboss (die/embossing folder), Swiss Dots embossing folder and the Winter House embossing folder. I used a silver Merry Christmas sticker, but you could also use a stamp instead. For a better view, click on the picture.

Here are a couple of easy Christmas Cards...I've used the Cuttlebug on both cards, a stamp from the Kaisercraft Doodled Christmas stamp set, and the hats from Paper Bliss Holiday Hats adhesive accents.

I used the Snowflake embossing folder for the background ... it's a bit hard to see in the photo but the red card has been embossed. The main face is a 1 1/4" punched circle. The nose and mouth are from off cuts of card stock. A couple of googly eyes to finish the face off.

This card I used the D'Vine Swirl embossing folder for the background. The die used for the left hand strip is one of the floral Cuttlebug dies. The main face is a 1 1/4" punched circle. The mouth is from odd bits of red card stock. A couple of googly eyes to finish the face off.

To finish the cards, you could put kindy glitz over the embossed card stock.

I must be honest, I saw this little chicken on this web-site and copied him.

The brown cardstock is 9.5cm x 13.5cm. I cut the grass myself with a pair of scissors.
The Chicken is an oval that I have cut the bottom off, the wings are 3/4" wide and I put them thru my 2" scallop punch. You could cut little scallops on his wings, you don't really need the punch. Make sure you fold his arms on an angle. When you are putting him together.
The beak is a square folded in half.
The eyes are punched out circles in black and white, if I had had google eyes I think they would have looked cute. I have used a white gel pen on his eyes as well.
The feet are cut out of orange card.
The crest on the top of the chicken is also hand cut.
Now it hasn't come out very well in my scan but I have inked the edge of the oval and his wings & the crest.
The corners are hand cut - I really need to buy myself a punch - are are up on foam.
The Happy Easter is also on foam.

The pink card is 13.5cm x 9.5cm
The white card is 13cm x 9cm
The pink card is 4.5cm x 11.5cm
The white card is 4cm x 11cm
The pink card is 4.5cm x 8.5cm
The white card is 4cm x 8cm
The flower is up on foam tape and has a 1" circle in the middle of it with the Bunny Brad
The ribbon is wrapped around the cardstock and tied in a knot.
Again I hand cut my corner.
The Happy Easter is mounted on pink card. The panel that it is stuck to is up on foam.
I used Kindy Glitz on the flower and on the corner.

I am not a huge sticker fan but these do look nice.

The flower stickers are placed on the oval.
The Happy Easer is up on foam on the yellow card then this is on foam as well on the oval.
The yellow card is 13.5cm x 9.5cm

I found this card on this web-site as well and really loved it but didn't have any of the stamps so I used stickers.

The black card is 12cm x 5cm
The green card is 11.5cm x 4.5cm
The black card is 7.5cm x 5.5cm
The pink card is 7cm x 5cm
The black card is 7cm x 5.5cm

2 New Cards & Opalites

Hello! It is Tamara here and I just wanted to share some cards I have made with you.

I was inspired by the card that Kathleen created yesterday and copied her a little to create this card. I am not a technique girl like Kathleen and our other cardmakers but I did really like how she coloured parts of the stamped image with a watercolour crayon so that was the bit that I copied. I have made this card out of plain white cardstock (which you know I love to do). I have coloured the edge of the cardstock that I stamped on with a blue watercolour crayon to match the colouring on the stamped image.

I made the next card using the Opalite stamp pads that are very popular at the moment.

I ran some black card through the Cuttlebug and then inked the raised parts with the Opalite stamp pad (Cypress Frost). I also stamped with this colour. The Opalites work really well on black cardstock (if you stamped them on white card they would just come out like a white ink which can look good too but I prefer them on the darker card). If you would like a demo of these gorgeous stamp pads just drop into the shop and ask us - we would love to show you!

Distress Stamp Pads

Hello!

I just made this today. I think it's really pretty. I can't decide if it's going to be in Fridays Ten Cards for $20 or if it will be in with the Saturday morning class.

I stamped the bird image from an Inkadinkado Stamp Set called Nostalgia. These stamps are fantastic - could just be that they are my new favourite toy - but I really do like them.

I stamped the bird image in Versafine Onyx Black then embossed it in clear. I have coloured in the image with water colour crayons - love these. Then I used a Versamark Pen over this and then embossed it again with clear embossing powder.

The verse is from a new stamp that set that we will hopefully have new stocks of by Monday it is also embossed.

I then stamped the swirl with Versamagic Cornucopia and embossed it in clear as well.
The whole background is sponged with Distress Stamp Pad Vintage Photo and then I sponged Fired Brick around the outside.

I made these on Monday with the above stamp set. Nothing too hard but I think they are pretty as well.

These next four cards are from the Winged Wonders Card Kit. It is only $17.95

It comes with the Winged Wonders Stickers, 4 x A4 white cardstock, 1 x A4 coloured cardstock, 1 x Mira Chocolate Rose Flat Paper, 2 x gold round brads, 1 x A4 sheet of printed Birthday Greetings and a colour copy of the cards pictured below.

All my cards are 14.5cm x 21cm.

The patterned paper is cut to 10cm x 14cm. The white card is cut to 9cm x 13cm.

The sentiment is from the stamp set above and it is stamped with Versafine Black Onyx onto white cardstock. I then cut out around it then matted it onto the coloured A4 card and cut it out.

I am not a fan of glue I use double sided tape that is 6mm wide and I go from corner to corner to make sure nothing lifts. I have been using this tape for over 4 years and as yet I have never had a project fall apart. If I do have to use glue I only use Dimensional Magic or Glossy Accents - why? because it's the best.

The A4 coloured card is cut to 10cm x 14cm. The patterned paper is cut to 9.5cm x 13.5cm. The white card is cut to 7.5cm x 11.5cm. I have again used the sentiment set pictured above and I have also stamped with Versafine Black Onyx on white card then cut it out and then put it on foam tape and then I matted it on the coloured cardstock.

The coloured card is 10cm x 14cm. The patterned paper is 9.5cm x 13.5cm and the white card is 7.5cm x 11.5cm. The "Happy Birthday" is cut from the sheet of greetings and then matted onto the coloured cardstock.

The patterned paper is 10cm x 14cm. The white card is 9cm x 13cm. The Happy Birthday is from the stamp set above and is on foam tape then it is matted on the coloured cardstock.

The next four card are in the General Birthday Card Kit and it is only $13.95

You will get:

The green cardstock is 10cm x 14cm. I have used Dimensional Magic to adhere the ric rac to the card. The "Blow Out the Candles" is matted on the white card and then it is up on foam tape on the green card stock.

The green cardstock is 10cm x 14cm. The white card is 9cm x 13cm.

This is the Blooms & Butterfly Card Kit and is only $15.95

Put your brad thru the Daisy then thru the scallop circle before you stick it to the card. The corners I make myself but you could use a punch - but I don't have one! These are also on foam tape. The "Thinking of You" is from the stamp set above and is stamped on white cardstock then matted on the patterned paper then it is up on foam tape.

The patterned paper is 10cm x 14cm. The white card is 9cm x 13cm.

The Happy Birthday is up on foam as are all the flowers.

The punches I have used are the Daisy WOAP and the Daisy Medium.

Make sure you place your brad in the Daisies before you stick them to the card.

Make sure you put in your brads before you stick your daisies to your card.

Iridescent Medium

What is Iridescent Medium?

Iridescent medium will give a "pearlescence" or "iridescence" when mixed with paint. We use both Jo Sonja and Kaiser paints and find that it works well with both. It is like a paste that is pearl white in colour (you can use it on it's own as a pearl white if you want).

It is available in store now.

The chart below shows some of the results you can achieve. You will notice on the chart we have marked the name of the paint under the colour and then on the next strip of colour it is that same paint mixed with the iridescent medium. I have found that the darker the paint colour the more vivid the colour you will achieve.

Step 1 - Pour some paint and some iridescent medium onto your palette.

Step 2 - Mix them.

Step 3 - Once you have the colour you want, paint your project. I have painted a chipboard shape here.

It is hard to see the difference here (more to do with my photography and old camera!). I have mixed Jo Sonja's Napthol Crimson with the Iridescent Medium and it has achieved a pearly pinky colour - beautiful! I have painted a strip of the original red colour next to it so you can compare.

Scrapbooking Kit Available Now

This kit comes with a set of Kaiser stamps - great for both scrapbooking and cardmaking.

The kit is $25.95.

If you already have these stamps the kit will only be $10.

The only other product you will need to copy my layout is watercolour pencils or crayons (to colour over the stamped image). My journaling is done with a printer - you could handwrite yours if you don't have a printer.

My bestest buddy Tamara, started a blog ages ago but I wasn't all that interested in it, so I didn't really pay any attention when she tried to show me how to use it... that's why you are getting 2 posts today... sorry T will listen more carefully next time...

Today I thought I would show you what we all look like...

This is my bestest buddy Tamara and her baby, Eliahn.

I really like this photo, it's nearly 2 years old and has been air-brushed to death but I look good don't I?

I couldn't post photos of us without showing you the beloved Inkredible.

This photo must be nearly 5 years old.
Inkredible hasn't really changed that much.
Except for the tarp that is on the roof at the moment,
we had some storm damage.
I am thinking of getting rid of the first sign across the front of the shop, on the awning.

It has too much information on it and looks a big daggy now.

Quick Boy Cards

These Autumn Leaves Stickers make perfect boy cards. They retail for $11.50.

I made 8 cards out of this pack and I still have some sticker left.

Again I have used my Stamp It Sentiment Set "Happy Birthday" stamp.
For this one I hand cut out the 1 but used the Cricut for the st...not sure why, should probably have done it all on the Cricut...
Everyone loves the Frog! I made a frame and put it up on foam tape with the frog in the center. The white card has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder.

Really like this one, just simple and again I have used the Stamp It Set.

This one is a little hard to see, I have cut out a square in the front of my cad and the dinosaur is actually on the inside of the card.

If you aren't good with a craft knife you have to try the Fiskars Fingertip Control Craft Knife. Makes everything easy.

More K & Co quick cards!

Below are the Stamp It Sets that I use fairly regularly. They retail for $29.95 each. As you can see I have used them on all of the K & Co cards.

Don't you just love the fact that these stickers already come with bling on?

These retail for $8.50 and I have made 7 cards. I have used white again for my base and then I have used 4 different coloured cardstock for the various cards. There is also some ribbon, split pins & acetate.

All up it cost me about $15.80 that makes them only $2.26 per card. Like me you probably have some ribbon, split pins and a small piece of acetate floating around and if you do it brings it down to $2.07 per card. Great value!

Quick Cards

These K & Co stickers are gorgeous and make quick and easy cards.

They retail for $10.95 and I made 8 cards out of them!

I used white card for the base and one sheet of 12x12 blue cardstock,

a scrappy bit that I had in my leftovers box for the punched flowers and a bit of ribbon.

All up it cost $16.25 for 8 cards! Making them only $2.03 each!

I love the Stamp It Sentiment Set it retails for $29.95 and has everything on it you could ever want. I only use the Pentel Hybrid Gel pens they are $5.50 each and you really need black and white for those special touches on cards.

And you may have noticed that I have also used the Cuttlebug - LOVE the Cuttlebug!

I have used the Birds & Swirls Folder on all of the Cuttlebugged cards. And on one of the cards I have rubbed my crayons over the top to highlight the embossed image. Have you used water colour crayons yet? I think they are much better than the pencils.

The punched flower is from EK Success and it is the medium daisy.

My favourite stamp pad to use is Versafine Onyx Black but it is a very wet stamp pad.

They last 5 times longer than normal pads. You can emboss with them as well but if you can't wait for things to dry try Staz On Black but make sure you have the Staz On Cleaner for your block and stamps.
